Dry risers

It is essential that you keep your Dry riser in good working order. Noran Fire recommends to have a 6 monthly visual inspection and 12 monthly hydraulic test on dry riser systems. Failing to maintain dry riser(s) may result in buildings insurance being invalid.

It is estimated that over half of all Dry Riser Systems in England and Wales are currently not being maintained in accordance with current BS 9990-2015 standards. All Dry Riser systems should be hydraulically pressure tested to 12 bar of water for a minimum of 15 minutes once a year. Or after use by the fire brigade. The system should be checked for any vandalism that might effect its operation in the event of an emergency.

British Standards BS9990:2015 recommend dry risers are inspected on bi-annually basis and hydrostatically pressure tested annually. Her at Noran we offer full maintenance packages with 24-hour callout service to ensure full client partnership.
